The weekend promises to be another exciting time of football with La Liga and Bundesliga kicking off following the commencement of Premier League and Ligue 1 last week.
The EPL gave fans a taste of what to expect in the 2019/2020 both Liverpool and Manchester City showed their title credentials with a comprehensive victory in their respective matches, while Manchester United also showed they may have put last season’s dark days behind them with a victory over rivals Chelsea last Sunday.
With La Liga and Bundesliga starting this weekend, it can only get better for fans. However, while fans will certainly witness top quality football this season, they will also be interested in how they can make money from these games.
And that’s why we will be giving out betting tips on selected games every weekend. Here are the picks for this weekend.
Southampton vs Liverpool: The Saints welcome the mighty Reds to the St Mary’s stadium, hoping to bounce back from a 3-0 reverse they suffered in the league opener against Burnley. Liverpool meanwhile will be aiming to make it two wins out of two following their opening day victory over Norwich.
Liverpool are on a ten-match winning streak in the Premier League.
The Reds have also scored at least two goals in their last ten Premier League matches.
Last four matches between these two have produced at least two goals.
Betting Tips: Southampton will be hoping Liverpool are still tired after playing 120 minutes in the Super Cup win over Chelsea. Nevertheless, a large squad should still be able to get Liverpool the maximum points. (Liverpool win and over 1.5)
Arsenal vs Burnley: Both teams go into the match having picked up maximum points in their opening matches. The Gunners beat Newcastle at St James’ Park last Sunday while Burnley thrashed Southampton 3-0.
For the Gunners, they will welcome Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac back into the team after they missed the 1-0 win over the Magpies due to security issues.
The Gunners have won their last ten matches against the Clarets.
Arsenal have also scored more than two goals in their last seven home matches against Burnley.
Betting Tips: Although Burnley will go into the match full of confidence following their opening day win against the Saints,
they are likely to be on the receiving end this time around. The Gunners should have too much firepower to see off the challenge of Sean Dyche’s side. ( Arsenal win, GG or Over 2.5)
Man City vs Tottenham: The clash of the week sees champions, City take on Tottenham at the Etihad stadium. The Citizens kicked off their defence with a 5-0 win over West Ham last Saturday, while Spurs saw off the challenge of newly promoted side, Aston Villa.
City are currently on a 15 match winning streak.
Guardiola’s men have won nine of their last 11 matches against Spurs in all competitions.
City have scored less than three goals in their last three home games in the Premier League
Betting Tips: Both teams are famous for their attacking style of play, so there should be goals in this one. Tottenham will definitely want to put in a show and also display their title credentials, but City’s quality should make them edge this one. ( City win or GG or Over 2.5)
Dortmund vs Augsburg: Following last season’s disappointment which saw them missed out on the league title to Bayern, Dortmund will hope to kick off this year’s campaign on a winning note when they take on Augsburg.
The Black and Yellows led the Bundesliga table for most parts of last season but still ended up short. They will be hoping to go one better this season.
Dortmund have scored at least two goals in their last 17 home matches in the Bundesliga
There have been more than three goals in eight of Augsburg’s last nine Bundesliga matches.
The Fuggerstädter have failed to win 11 of their last 12 Bundesliga matches.
Betting Tips: It’s hard to see anything other than a Dortmund win. Lucien Favre’s men will definitely want to put up a show in front of the yellow wall. ( Dortmund win)
Celta Vigo vs Real Madrid: After spending heavily in the summer, Real Madrid will hope their squad is now well equipped to win La Liga when they kick off their campaign against Celta Vigo.
The Los Blancos had a season to forget last campaign after they finished third in La Liga and also lost the defence of their UCL title. As a result, they went into the market to bring in players like Eden Hazard, Eder Militao, Luka Jovic, Rodrygo and Ferland Mendy.
But despite this new signings, their preseason form showed Zidane still needs to do a lot of work on his team. Nevertheless, they will hope to start well when they take on Celta Vigo.
Last six home matches of Celta Vigo against Real Madrid have seen over 2.5 goals
Real Madrid have scored at least two goals in their last six away matches against Celta Vigo in all competitions.
Celta Vigo are undefeated in their last five home matches in La Liga.
Betting Tips: Zidane’s team are unpredictable these days, so a win may not be a safe bet. However, they will definitely score goals while they are also likely to concede. ( Over 2.5 or GG)
