Meghan Markle is being candid about her relationship with money and the emotional weight of financial insecurity, despite having a reported combined net worth of $60 million with her husband, Prince Harry.
In the latest episode of her “Confessions of a Female Founder” podcast, the Duchess of Sussex sat down with Spanx billionaire Sara Blakely, exploring the deeper narratives women face when it comes to wealth, success, and self-worth.
“So many women, especially, we’re taught not even to talk about money,” Meghan, 43, said. “There’s a lot of guilt surrounding having a lot, and at the same time, there’s a scarcity mindset — this fear of never having enough.”
Blakely, who built a $1.3 billion empire from scratch, shared how many people carry toxic beliefs about money. Meghan admitted that despite her own success, she still struggles with financial fear and would “love to adopt” a healthier money mindset.
“All My Weight Was in the Front”
The former “Suits” star also reflected on her pregnancies with son Archie (6) and daughter Lilibet (3), recalling the physical and emotional challenges she faced — especially while still performing royal duties.
“I gained 65 pounds with both pregnancies,” Meghan revealed. “I wore my five-inch stilettos throughout, and my bump was so big. A friend told me, ‘Your tiny ankles were bracing themselves in those heels.’”
She described clinging to Prince Harry during public appearances, fearing she might fall:
“I was just thinking, how am I not face-planting? I was holding onto my husband like, ‘Please don’t let me fall.’”
The episode marks another intimate moment for Meghan, who continues to use her platform to explore topics of female empowerment, vulnerability, and entrepreneurship.
