The Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has declared Wednesday, May 28, 2025, as the first day of Zulhijja 1446 AH, following the confirmed sighting of the new moon across various parts of Nigeria.
This marks the official commencement of the sacred Islamic month of Zulhijja, which is significant for the Hajj pilgrimage and culminates in the Eid al-Adha celebration, set to be observed on Friday, June 6, 2025.
