Former Miss South Africa 2010, Bokang Montjane, is back in the spotlight—this time not just for her beauty queen credentials, but for her resilience, inspiration, and a powerful message of perseverance.
She has officially been named the new National Director of Miss Supranational South Africa, marking a new chapter in her already remarkable journey.
In an emotional message shared on social media, Bokang reflected on the tough times she faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, revealing how she was forced to shut down her beloved salons. The closure left her uncertain about her future in the beauty industry.
“A few years ago Covid hit and I had to close my salons,” she wrote. “I was a little devastated and wondered even when things got back to normal if I should go back again?”
Despite new opportunities emerging, Bokang admitted that the passion she had for her salon business never faded.
“It kept itching and itching inside of me to reopen again because I genuinely love watching people coming in feeling down and seeing them light up and feel beautiful,” she explained.
“When I started this I thought I’m in the business of beauty and hair, but soon realised we are in the business of making people feel good!”
Her candid message resonated deeply with many who have faced life’s setbacks and questioned their dreams. Bokang encouraged her followers to revisit their passions, no matter how long they’ve been dormant.
“This is a friendly reminder in case you once lost something, or put it aside because life happened… FETCH IT! Start that small business, write that book, go back to school — whatever it is, JUST DO IT!”
She also extended heartfelt appreciation to her team, writing, “A big thank you to my incredible team for always going the extra mile!”
Fans, followers, and fellow women in business have since flooded her post with support, calling her words a beacon of hope and encouragement.
As she steps into her new leadership role with Miss Supranational South Africa, Bokang Montjane continues to prove that resilience, purpose, and passion never go out of style.
