Offset has requested spousal support from Cardi B in their ongoing divorce case.
The rapper claims he is entitled to alimony payments from his soon-to-be ex-wife as they approach the one-year mark of their split. The updated response was filed in New Jersey’s Bergen County Superior Court and includes a specific request for alimony, while the rest of the filing remains the same.
Cardi filed for divorce from Offset in August after six years of marriage, seeking primary custody of their three children.
According to Cardi’s rep, the divorce filing was “not based on any one particular incident, it has been a long time coming and is amicable”.
In an ugly social media exchange in December, Offset claimed Cardi “look like the hoe”.
She fired back: “You sound like a dummy,” before later adding, “F**k off and sign the papers TODAY.”
The current case is the second time Cardi B has filed for divorce. She previously attempted to end their marriage in September 2020, after rumours of infidelity had plagued their relationship for years.
Within a month, she revealed that the couple had reconciled, and later withdrew the case.
“It’s hard not to talk to your best friend,” she posted on Instagram.
