Kelsea Ballerini has revealed she’s stepping back for a while to “figure out what’s next”.
Having recently wrapped up her role as a coach on season 27 of The Voice, the country music star shared that she needs some time to herself.
Besides her stint on the popular show, Kelsea Ballerini also released her fifth studio album, Patterns, and headlined her very first arena tour.
Appearing on Today with Jenna & Friends on Friday, the 31-year-old artist stated, “I need a break!”
“And I’ve never been able to say that before, but I really think it’s just time for me to pump the brakes, figure out what’s next, have a summer, what?” she added. “Go to the beach? Huh? Learn to cook a new meal, hang out with the dogs. So that’s kind of my agenda.”
Still, she confessed that breaks don’t always go as planned.
“Every time I say that I have time off, something happens,” she admitted. “But I’m very open to whatever is out there.”
Reflecting on her recent experience with The Voice, the Cowboys Cry Too singer described it as meaningful.
“It’s been such a beautiful season of doing things that are out of my comfort zone and bigger than I’ve ever done, and it’s been really fulfilling. I love being in that seat,” she expressed.
When asked about the possibility of returning to the show, Kelsea Ballerini responded that she would “never say never”.
Her journey on The Voice began in season 15, followed by a role as a battle advisor in season 16. She also filled in as a coach for Kelly Clarkson in season 20.
