Nigerian star Tems has been confirmed as one of the headline acts for the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup Final halftime show, joining an all‑star lineup including J Balvin and Doja Cat.
Organisers FIFA and Global Citizen announced the trio, curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, as the official halftime performers for the event at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, 13 July 2025.
Tems, widely known for her global breakout hit “Essence,” shared her excitement about uniting the world through music and supporting the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, aimed at raising US $100 million for global education access.
This milestone cements Tems’s ascent on the global stage, following her late-night TV debut, Grammy nods, and major collaborations with Beyoncé and Rihanna.
Her performance alongside J Balvin and Doja Cat highlights the growing influence of Afrobeats and the crossover of Black global music at major sporting events.
