Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate Kola has officially stepped back from pursuing fellow housemate Dede, citing fears of being compared to Ozo, whose unreciprocated affection for Nengi became one of the most talked-about moments of the BBNaija Lockdown season.
During a late-night conversation with Sabrina on Tuesday, Kola admitted that Dede was sending mixed signals and seemed emotionally unavailable.
“She is giving mixed signals,” Kola said.
Sabrina added, “Only God knows the conversations she has with Koyin and Jason Jae.”
“I Don’t Want to Be Like Ozo” — Kola Opens Up
Kola, 29, confessed that he had developed feelings for Dede but has since decided to protect his dignity and reputation after observing her growing closeness with other male housemates.
“I hope my team change the narrative of this Ozo and Nengi thing. I will do same when I come out,” he stated.
Fans have been quick to draw parallels between Kola’s experience and that of Ozo in BBNaija 2020, where Ozo’s repeated efforts to woo Nengi—who maintained she only saw him as a friend—sparked debates across social media and even led to memes that still trend years later.
Dede Responds: “I’m In a Serious Relationship Outside”
Earlier in the show, Dede made it clear to Kola and other housemates that she would not be involved in any romantic entanglement in the house due to her commitment to a relationship outside the show.
“I’m in a relationship outside the house, very serious… it would definitely not happen by God’s grace,” she affirmed.
Despite Dede’s clear boundaries, her frequent interactions with Koyin and Jason Jae have led to mixed interpretations among housemates and fans.
