Cameroon international goalkeeper André Onana has completed a loan move from Manchester United to Trabzonspor.

The 29-year-old shot-stopper was pushed further down the pecking order at Old Trafford following the arrival of young Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens, prompting his switch to the Turkish club.

Trabzonspor confirmed the deal in an official statement:

“An agreement has been reached with Manchester United for the temporary transfer of footballer André Onana to our club, free of charge, for the 2025-2026 football season.”

According to reports from the Daily Mail, the loan move comes with a major financial upside for Onana, as his earnings are expected to double thanks to a combination of a signing bonus and additional performance-related incentives.

For Manchester United, however, the deal does not include a loan fee, nor an option for Trabzonspor to make the move permanent. The agreement will run until June 30, 2026.

The transfer offers Onana the chance to revive his form and enjoy regular first-team football, while Trabzonspor gain a high-profile addition between the sticks for the season.
