Months after the passing of Malcolm-Jamal Warner, his wife Tenisha Warner has publicly spoken for the first time, paying a heartfelt tribute to the late actor. Warner, best known for his role on The Cosby Show, died in July at the age of 54 after tragically drowning while vacationing in Costa Rica.
Despite his fame, Malcolm was known for keeping his personal life away from the spotlight, including the identity of his wife, which had remained a mystery until now.
In an emotional Instagram post shared on his account, Tenisha revealed herself to the public and posted a photo from their 2017 wedding. Alongside the revelation, she announced the launch of the Warner Family Foundation and a new project, River & Ember, created with their daughter.
Her tribute read:
“Thank you for holding us in so much love during this tender time.
Tomorrow marks our anniversary and my heart is wide open.
For the first time, I’m sharing a glimpse of the love that began it all.
I can still hear my husband’s laugh, still feel the way he made room for every part of me — every tear, every dream.
Today, in his honor, my daughter and I are launching River & Ember and officially opening The Warner Family Foundation.
Together we carry the legacy my husband and I began— one that nurtures children’s inner light and gives young artists the freedom to create outside the lines.
This is love. Still moving. Still making. Still carrying us forward.”
Through the initiative, Tenisha affirmed her commitment to preserving Malcolm’s legacy by supporting children and young artists worldwide.
