Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has refuted allegations that she has been sabotaging other female artists in the Nigerian music industry, daring anyone making such claims to come forward with proof.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Offair Show, the “Somebody’s Son” crooner addressed long-standing rumors that she has allegedly blocked her colleagues from securing performance opportunities.
“If you’ve heard from anybody that I tried to block your bag, mention names,” Tiwa Savage said.
“Maybe the promoters are lying and using me. Maybe they don’t want to book three or four girls, so they claim I am the one blocking others.”
Her comments come years after Kenyan singer Victoria Kimani accused Tiwa Savage of allegedly preventing her from performing at multiple shows.
Tiwa, however, maintained that the accusations are baseless and possibly fueled by misinformation from event promoters who may be using her name as an excuse.
The award-winning artist, who has consistently championed women’s empowerment in Afrobeats, emphasized that she has no reason to hinder the success of other female performers, insisting she wishes everyone well in the industry.
