The Lagos State Police Command has declared activist Omoyele Sowore wanted for allegedly planning to incite public unrest and obstruct major roads across the state.
Commissioner of Police Olohundare Jimoh made the announcement on Monday while addressing journalists at the Iyana-Oworo section of the Third Mainland Bridge.
According to Jimoh, Sowore and several others are accused of coordinating activities aimed at disrupting public peace and causing traffic chaos at key locations in Lagos.
“Sowore should surrender at the nearest police station or face arrest wherever he is found. Anyone attempting to cause disturbance or block our roads will face the full weight of the law,”
the police commissioner warned.
Jimoh further disclosed that intelligence reports had uncovered plans by the activist and his associates to stage demonstrations at Third Mainland Bridge, Lekki Tollgate, and Freedom Park — locations often associated with major civic gatherings and protests in the state.
The police reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order while urging residents to go about their daily activities without fear or panic
