Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo has humorously reacted to a viral social media post suggesting he should play the next Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
A user identified as Xabs took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the idea, writing:
“Femi Adebayo as the next Black Panther, who say no?”
The post quickly went viral, sparking excitement among movie lovers and fans of both Nollywood and Hollywood.
Reacting to the post, Femi Adebayo quoted it with a confident and playful response that showcased his trademark charm.
“If it’s sword fights, I’ve mastered them. If it’s the jungle, I’ve survived it. If it’s a kingdom, I’ve ruled it. And when it comes to villains, they’re still learning from Agemo and Esusu. Tell Marvel Studios to call me!”
His witty reply earned applause across social media, with fans praising his versatility and charisma.
The original Black Panther was portrayed by late American actor Chadwick Boseman, who passed away in August 2020 at the age of 43 after a private battle with colon cancer.
Following Boseman’s death, Marvel Studios announced that the character T’Challa would not be recast to honour his legacy. The 2022 sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, shifted focus to other key characters, with Letitia Wright’s Shuri taking up the Black Panther mantle.
Femi Adebayo, celebrated for his roles in Yoruba epic blockbusters such as King of Thieves (Ageshinkole) and Jagun Jagun, has built a strong reputation for bringing African heroism, tradition, and action to life on screen.
Fans say his mastery of sword fights and royal portrayals could make him a perfect fit for a culturally grounded Marvel story if such a crossover ever happens.
