Nollywood actress and TV host Osas Ighodaro has penned an emotional tribute to her late mother, Patricia Imuetinyan Ighodaro, five years after her passing.
Taking to her Instagram page on Tuesday, Osas shared a heartfelt message alongside a photo of her mother, expressing her enduring love and deep sense of loss.
“Yesterday, today and always. I love and miss you so much Mummy. 5 years gone already. May God continue to covet you in His love and embrace you my sweet guardian angel. I pray I’m making you proud. Forever in our hearts my Queen 🕊️🕊️,” she wrote.
Her mother, Patricia Imuetinyan Ighodaro, passed away on November 4, 2020, at the age of 65. At the time, Osas announced the heartbreaking news on Instagram, writing:
“RIP Mummy, Nov 10th, 1955 – Nov 4th, 2020. Pls wake me up.”
In previous interviews, the Rattlesnake actress revealed how her mother’s death deeply changed her outlook on life.
“I’m going to live my life and represent her legacy to the best of my ability. I was so self-conscious before, but who cares at this point,” she once said.
Osas also admitted that grief has been a long and painful process, but one she has learned to navigate over the years.
“It’s almost been five years since my mum passed away and the pain never goes away. From time to time the emotion takes over… I’ve learnt to allow it to take its course, brush it off and keep it moving,” she said.
The 34-year-old actress continues to honour her mother’s memory through her work and annual tributes on social media, often expressing gratitude for the love, faith, and strength her late mother instilled in her.
