Chairman and Founder of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has announced substantial financial incentives for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, pledging rewards of up to $1 million following their 2–0 quarter-final victory over Algeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
In a statement shared on his Instagram page on Saturday, the Nigerian billionaire commended the team’s performance and hailed their impact on national morale.
“Congratulations to our Super Eagles players on a brilliant victory against Algeria! You have lifted the spirit of the nation, and we proudly cheer you on as you prepare for the semi-finals,” Rabiu wrote.
He went on to outline performance-based rewards ahead of the semi-final and a potential final appearance. According to Rabiu, the players will receive $500,000 if they win their semi-final match, with an additional $50,000 for every goal scored in that game.
Should Nigeria go on to lift the AFCON trophy, Rabiu pledged a further $1,000,000, alongside a $100,000 bonus for each goal scored in the final.
Concluding his message, he encouraged the team to maintain their momentum. “Wishing you continued success as you carry Nigeria forward. Keep making Nigeria proud. Proudly Nigerian,” he added.
Nigeria booked their place in the semi-finals with a commanding 2–0 win over Algeria at the Stade de Marrakech on Wednesday. Victor Osimhen opened the scoring shortly after halftime and later provided the assist for Akor Adams’ goal before the hour mark, ensuring the Super Eagles remained firmly in control of the contest.
Osimhen, who was named Man of the Match, downplayed individual praise and highlighted the collective effort of the squad.
“For me, I just did my job. I tried to fight for the team and to get goals or assists, but the whole squad deserves praise,” the striker said.
The Super Eagles will next face host nation Morocco in the AFCON 2025 semi-final on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, with kickoff scheduled for 9:00 p.m. at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Rabat.
