Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that he has stepped away from the high-energy party lifestyle that defined his early years in the music industry, citing maturity, family life, and a growing desire for rest.

Speaking on The LongForm Podcast, Davido reflected on how fame, money, and influence at a young age led him into an intense nightlife culture, a phase he says no longer excites him.

According to the singer, his priorities have shifted significantly, with quiet time at home now outweighing the appeal of clubs and constant outings. He explained that when he is away, he prefers staying connected with his wife rather than being out socialising.

“That freedom, power, and money at that young age, I was like, I used to wild out, man,” Davido said.

“These days, I don’t even go to the club, bro. I used to go every day. It was part of us — like we always had somewhere to be.”

Davido shared a recent personal moment to underline the change, revealing that during a nearly two-month stay in Nigeria, he barely stepped out.

“I was just in Nigeria for almost two months. I didn’t go out. I was just at home and I was actually having fun,” he said.

“I’d go to my studio, chill, have somebody come barbecue. That’s fun to me now. Before I knew it, it’s 3:30 a.m., 4 a.m., just relaxing at home.”

He added that his routine now often ends with quiet moments and long calls with his wife.

“I go home, I call my wife, I sleep off on FaceTime. Like, it was boring stuff, bro,” he said, laughing.

Despite the lifestyle change, Davido was quick to clarify that he still switches into high-energy mode when duty calls.

“When it’s time to party, when it’s time to record, when it’s time to do a show, obviously, that’s my career,” he explained.

“But just regular life? Anytime I have an opportunity to sleep these days, I rush and go and sleep.”

The singer’s comments have resonated with fans, many of whom see the shift as a sign of personal growth, stability, and a new chapter shaped by family, balance, and long-term well-being rather than constant nightlife.
