A video showing Adams Oshiomhole, the senator representing Edo North, giving a foot massage to an unidentified woman aboard a private jet has triggered widespread reactions across social media platforms.
The clip, which initially surfaced on TikTok before being deleted by the original uploader, shows Oshiomhole seated inside a private aircraft while attending to the woman’s feet. The footage has since gone viral after being reshared on X and Instagram.
Reports indicate that the woman involved removed content from her social media accounts shortly after the video gained traction online.
The footage drew heightened attention because of Oshiomhole’s background as a former president of the Nigeria Labour Congress and his recent remarks that food prices in Nigeria had become “too cheap,” which had already generated controversy.
Reacting on X, activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju criticised the senator, writing:
“A former textile worker now living like Pablo Escobar. Politics money is sweet.”
Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore also weighed in, questioning the disconnect between Oshiomhole’s lifestyle and the economic realities facing Nigerians.
“When ‘Comrade’ Oshiomhole says food prices have dropped, he’s not speaking from the marketplace, he’s speaking from 30,000 feet,” Sowore said, adding that someone who can afford private jet travel is insulated from daily struggles.
Activist Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, questioned the senator’s earnings in a video response, asking how a public official could afford such a lifestyle.
Other social media users echoed similar sentiments, with some accusing the senator of wasting public funds and others calling for his resignation.
Comments also raised broader concerns about public spending priorities, particularly in contrast to challenges in healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
As of the time of filing this report, Adams Oshiomhole has not issued any official response to the viral video or the criticisms surrounding it.
