Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has received American streamer and internet personality Kai Cenat at the Lagos House, Marina, during a courtesy visit on Wednesday.
The visit was disclosed by the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Jubril Gawat, in a post shared on X.
According to the statement, Cenat, who is on his second visit to Lagos, shared his experiences in the state with the governor and discussed his ongoing engagements.
“Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, today received American online streamer, YouTube and internet personality Kai Cenat on a courtesy visit at the Lagos House, Marina,” the post read.
Gawat added that Cenat is currently in Lagos to follow up on projects and initiatives aimed at children and young people in the state.
Cenat arrived in Lagos earlier on Wednesday at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, where he was welcomed by supporters.
During his first visit to Nigeria nearly a year ago, Cenat pledged to fund the construction of a school for children in Makoko.
He later disclosed that the project faced delays due to land acquisition and regulatory approvals, prompting a plan revision to relocate the proposed school to Yaba while still offering free education to children from Makoko.
Cenat has previously stated that more than $1 million has been raised toward the initiative, with remaining tasks including land purchase, regulatory approvals, construction, and staffing.
His visit comes shortly after another American streamer, IShowSpeed, toured Lagos as part of a broader trip across Africa, drawing widespread public attention and highlighting Nigeria’s growing presence in global digital culture.
