Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode has finally addressed what she described as hurtful and destructive rumours circulating about her within the entertainment industry, saying the false claims have caused her real emotional pain.
In a video shared on her Instagram page, the actress—popularly known as Toyosi, or “Toyo Baby,” from Jenifa’s Diary—said she usually ignores online stories, but recent reports pushed her to speak out.
According to Juliana, the misinformation about her broke her heart and made her question why people would deliberately lie about another person.
She specifically addressed rumours suggesting she is difficult to work with or selectively avoids people in the industry. Clearing the air, Juliana made it clear that this is not the case.
“So I want to clear the air. There is absolutely NO producer or director I cannot work with. None,” she said.
“I am open and willing to work with anyone, as long as the story and my role do not go against my consecration to God.”
Juliana also reaffirmed her long-standing stance on on-screen boundaries, particularly intimate scenes. She confirmed that she does not kiss in movies, explaining that the decision is rooted in her Christian faith.
“It is true that I wouldn’t kiss in movies,” she said.
“It’s okay if you don’t like me. It’s okay if you say I’m not a good actor. It’s okay if you don’t want to work with me. But lying about me is deeply wrong and hurtful.”
The actress, who has often spoken publicly about faith, discipline, and personal conviction, noted that she has turned down roles in the past when they conflicted with her principles—choices she says have shaped her career path.
Juliana’s emotional response has since sparked conversations online, with many fans applauding her for speaking her truth and defending her reputation, while also calling out the harm caused by unchecked rumours in the entertainment space.
