South African media personality and rapper Boity Thulo is at the centre of a legal battle that could reportedly put her multi-million-rand home at risk.
According to reports by Daily Sun, Boity has been dragged before the Johannesburg High Court over an alleged unpaid loan linked to her Centurion property in Gauteng.
Court papers cited in the report show that Leemark Financial Services is suing the TV star after she allegedly failed to pay the outstanding balance on a loan used to purchase a R4.2 million house in Centurion, Tshwane.
The company has reportedly applied for judgment, which could result in an execution order—meaning the property could be attached and auctioned if the debt remains unsettled.
In an affidavit, Leemark Financial Services’ Mark Lauth stated that Boity purchased the house on August 5, 2021, and that the property was officially registered in her name on March 30, 2022. He claimed she paid over R3.7 million toward the purchase price but allegedly failed to clear the remaining R491,813.
“The defendant paid an amount of R3,708,187.00 in part settlement of the purchase price, leaving a balance of R491,813.00 which amount remains unpaid and outstanding,” Lauth was quoted as saying.
Lauth further alleged that multiple letters were sent to Boity requesting payment, but she allegedly failed to respond.
The court filing reportedly seeks judgment for the outstanding amount, adding that Boity has 10 days to file a notice of intention to defend the matter or risk a default judgment being granted against her.
He also hinted that the dispute may involve issues beyond the R4.2 million bond but did not provide further details.
Reacting to the report, Boity reportedly expressed shock when contacted for comment, saying:
“They want to sell my house. You just ruined my day.”
As of now, the matter remains before the court, and no final judgment has been issued. The development has sparked intense discussion online, with fans anxiously awaiting Boity’s next move as the legal drama unfolds.
