Nigerian streamer and skitmaker Carter Efe has shared the painful story of how his father, a police officer, was killed during a robbery incident in Ogun State several years ago.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, the content creator recalled that his father had finished work for the day and was heading home when the tragic event occurred.
According to him, his father decided to ride in a police van to the nearest bus stop close to their residence. On their way, they encountered heavy traffic caused by what appeared to be men dressed in military camouflage.
Unaware that the individuals were armed robbers, his father and other officers reportedly stepped out of their vehicle to assess the situation. Upon noticing their police uniforms, the attackers opened fire.
Carter Efe said the experience remains deeply traumatic, especially because footage from the incident was broadcast publicly.
“My dad had closed from duty and was heading home but decided to enter the police van to the nearest bus-stop to our house… However, they ran into a gridlock and some men in military camouflage were robbing,” he recounted.
He added that seeing visuals from the incident online made the loss even harder to process.
“I am not a stranger to pain. I have gone through a lot of pains. So, there is no pain that will make me stop my grind,” he said.
Carter Efe noted that the tragedy shaped his resilience and determination to succeed despite life’s hardships.
