The Nigeria Police Council (NPC) has confirmed Tunji Disu as the substantive Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
The confirmation was made on Monday during a meeting held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Recall that Bola Tinubu had earlier appointed him as acting IGP on February 24, 2026, following the resignation of Kayode Egbetokun.
The President subsequently decorated Disu with the rank of Inspector-General on February 25.
With the Council’s confirmation, he now assumes full authority as Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police.
